What IGBC certification is
The Indian Green Building Council was formed by the Confederation of Indian Industry in 2001 and runs the most widely used green rating systems in India. A project earns credits across site, water, energy, materials, indoor environment and innovation, and the total decides the rating level.
Most new projects go through two stages: pre-certification on the design, which many developers use in marketing and approvals, and final certification once the building is complete and the site evidence is in.
Rating systems we work with
- Green New Buildings for offices, institutions, hospitals, hotels and other new construction.
- Green Factory Buildings for manufacturing plants, including process-area energy and water.
- Green Homes and Green Residential Societies for housing projects.
- Green Interiors for fit-outs inside an existing shell.
- Green Existing Buildings (O&M) for operating buildings that want a rating on actual performance.
- Net Zero Energy, Water and Waste for buildings that balance what they use with what they generate or recover.
What we do on your project
- Target setting. A credit-by-credit gap check against your current design, with the rating level that makes commercial sense.
- Design integration. Credits written into drawings, specifications and the BOQ, so the contractor builds the rated building by default.
- Calculations. Energy, daylight, water balance, rainwater, recycled content and regional material workings.
- Documentation. Registration, online submissions and every template the reviewer asks for.
- Site support. Erosion control, waste diversion, indoor air quality and photo evidence during construction.
- Reviewer queries. Clarifications handled until the final award.

Questions clients ask
How long does IGBC certification take?
Pre-certification follows a complete design-stage submission and the reviewer's queries. Final certification follows construction completion, so the overall timeline runs with your build programme. Bringing us in at concept stage keeps it from adding delay.
Can a factory get an IGBC rating?
Yes. IGBC Green Factory Buildings is written for manufacturing plants and covers the factory building, its utilities and the worker welfare areas.
Does a green rating raise construction cost?
When targets are set before design is frozen, the extra cost is usually small, and it is paid back through lower energy and water bills. Some state and municipal bodies also offer incentives for rated projects. We check what applies to your site.
